Significa reached out over the Christmas break with an urgent project — 20 modules, search integration, headless Umbraco build, go-live on 5 February. We started on 5 January, were onboarded by 6 January, and delivered on time and on budget.

Some briefs arrive at convenient times. This was not one of them. Over the Christmas break, Significa Digital — a Greek creative agency whose standards for craft and technical execution we have long respected — reached out with a project that needed to go live on 5 February. Could we help get it over the line?
The timeline was tight by any measure: a 31-day delivery window, a codebase we had never seen, a technology stack we knew well, and a go-live date that was not moveable. We said yes.
Significa had been engaged on a substantial build for an end client: a headless website on Umbraco CMS, using Umbraco's Delivery API to serve content to a modern front-end. The scope included 20 distinct content modules, full-text search integration, and front-end implementation across the entire site. The work was real and the deadline was firm.

What they needed was a development team who could onboard fast, work independently in an unfamiliar codebase, and deliver to the standard their client expected — without hand-holding, without a long ramp-up period, and without missing the February 5 go-live.
Both of our back-end developers were brought into the project on 5 January. By 6 January — one working day — they had onboarded to the codebase, understood the Umbraco Delivery API architecture, and had begun active development.
Umbraco's headless Delivery API is a relatively recent addition to the CMS ecosystem, and a bespoke configuration in an unfamiliar codebase presents real onboarding friction for teams without prior exposure. The speed of that onboarding was not luck — it was the product of developers who are genuinely comfortable picking up new technology, reading a codebase they did not write, and making correct decisions in it quickly.
Neither developer had built on this exact stack before. Both hit the ground running from day two. That is the standard we hold ourselves to when a client or partner needs capacity at short notice.
Over the 31 days of the engagement, the team delivered:
20 content modules — each designed and implemented to Significa's specification, built to work consistently across the headless architecture and conform to the content model defined in Umbraco
Search integration — full-text search connected to the Umbraco content graph and surfaced through the front-end with appropriate UX patterns for the project's audience
Front-end integration — all modules connected to the Delivery API, data-bound, and tested across the required viewports and browsers
The work was delivered without the AI-assisted generation that accelerates many of our builds. This was a case where the nature of the integration — navigating an existing codebase's conventions, matching established patterns, working within another team's architecture decisions — required pure engineering judgment and attention. The output reflected that.
The project went live on 5 February as planned. The budget was held. Significa's client received the site they commissioned, on the date they were promised, to the quality standard the brief demanded.
For Significa, the value was not just the modules delivered — it was the ability to bring in a partner team over the Christmas period, at short notice, and have them perform as if they had been part of the project from the start. No extended onboarding. No quality compromise. No timeline slippage.
The relationship with Significa Digital reflects a model of agency collaboration that we have found valuable for both sides. Creative agencies with strong client relationships and design capabilities sometimes need development capacity that goes beyond what their own team can absorb at a given moment. We provide that capacity without the friction that usually accompanies it — no relationship management overhead, no quality dilution, no dependency risk.
We operate as a seamless extension of our partner's team. The client sees the deliverable; the partner manages the relationship; we ensure the engineering is done correctly and on time. That model works because we have the depth to onboard quickly, the discipline to work within someone else's architecture, and the commitment to treat a partner's deadline as seriously as our own.
When Significa needs development capacity again — at Christmas, at Easter, or in the middle of August — they know where to find it.
